New Stuff Available

November 28, 2009

I have been trying to learn how to add things and format this site, and I managed to add a section with some study materials. You are welcome to check it out; I hope to add more as time goes on. I’ve taken a few days off for Thanksgiving, as we have spent time with family in Memphis. It has been really nice to spend time with family, and Mom and Dad are going to be in KY with us tomorrow.

We got here late Wednesday night, since we had a busy day at Crittenden Drive. We have some members of our congregation that coordinated an amazing day of delivering meals and serving a meal at the building. A couple of congregations in our area donated some food and helped us deliver. The grand total, when the day was over, was 703 meals delivered. We also fed at least 200 people at our building (including our congregation – we ate together before our evening worship).

I enjoyed getting to deliver meals, and it was eye-opening to see peoples’ reactions when we arrived with food. The gratitude in the eyes of those we served was sobering, and it provided a new perspective. I was so excited to see all age groups in the congregation working together all afternoon (all day for some), and it was a great reminder of what a church family is designed to be like – Christians across the spectrum of age, experience, and life situation working together to serve others in the name of Christ.
