Just Got Back In Town

October 1, 2009

We just got in from a gospel meeting in Henderson, KY – I got to hang out with Gary and Neal, who are doing a great job and clearly love the congregation there. More later, but here are just a few of the fun things we did this week –

  • Had lunch with Dave and Erin on Sunday, which was really great. We are now fellow Kentuckians, and it was alot of fun to catch up with them.
  • Got to meet alot of people at Henderson and see people I hadn’t seen in a long time. I didn’t realize how many people we knew or went to school with that are in that area. Everyone was really friendly, and of course, everyone loved Luke. Plus, we ate really well all week!
  • Played kickball with the Henderson youth group (which led to me seriously bruising a toe and almost falling into a pond) at the Sunday night devo. And Luke got to see a horse, which he made us pick him up to look at four different times.
  • We got to see Larry and Cindy Albritton (Kathryn’s uncle and aunt) on Monday and Tuesday. They live in Evansville, IN (10 miles from Henderson) where Larry preaches for the Westside Church of Christ.
  • Got to check out the new “Amazonia” area of the Mensker Zoo in Evansville and the Childrens Museum of Evansville with Luke. I thought we would never get him out of the Children’s Museum – he really loved it. I’ll have to post some pictures later.
  • Watched barges on the river and trains cross the bridge over the river with Luke. The place where we stayed was right by the river and we would just stare out the window at them.

It’s late, and I’ll have more to post later in the week. Just wanted to let all 3 of my faithful readers know what we have been up to this week!
